About Shadow Matrix

Built by Australian gamers, for Australian gamers. Our story, our team, and our mission.

The Shadow Matrix team at their Sydney office

From Passion Project to Australia's #1 Gaming Platform

Shadow Matrix was founded in Sydney in 2019 by a group of five friends who were frustrated with the lack of Australian-focused gaming content. International review sites rarely considered local server availability, regional pricing context, or the unique preferences of the Australian gaming community.

What started as a small blog quickly grew into a full editorial platform, attracting writers, analysts, and esports veterans from across the country. Today, Shadow Matrix is the go-to destination for Australian gamers seeking honest reviews and comprehensive tournament coverage.

We are proudly independent — no publisher funding, no sponsored review scores. Our ratings reflect genuine gameplay experience, nothing more.

Our Core Values

The principles that guide every review, every article, and every tournament we cover.

Unbiased Integrity

🌍

Australian Perspective

🏆

Esports Excellence

We provide the most comprehensive coverage of Australian esports tournaments, from grassroots events to national championships.

👥

Community First

Our readers are our community. We actively engage with feedback, host discussions, and amplify Australian gaming voices.

🔍

Depth Over Hype

We spend meaningful time with every game before publishing. Our reviews are thorough, not rushed to meet launch-day traffic spikes.
